(Just think – all these pigeons are dead now!)

Jokes and funny stories have been around since Adam was a lad.

It is said that laughing is one of the best therapies there is.

I will not argue with that.

The concept of Jokers Wild goes back to the late 1990’s when I gathered together a group of like minded friends here in East Lothian and connected us all together with the original “Jokers Wild” email address to share jokes and funny stories. My friends sent their contributions to me and I acted as the local ‘Postie’ by distributing them to all the others.

We decided that we would keep things respectable and try not to offend anyone. Indeed, I took on the onerous responsibility of vetting every joke before it went out so as not to upset or insult. We also kept things clean (using the odd innuendo now and again!) and swear words were discouraged too. After all, emails can be seen by anyone looking at a recipient’s screen so we were always aware that sensitive and / or young eyes might be upon us.

As time went by, the list grew and grew and from our humble beginnings here in Scotland, we took on board new friends – first in England and then overseas. Soon we had contributors from as far away as Florida and California in America, Cyprus and New Zealand.

The problem with an email based list though is that it is quite restrictive and it was very apparent that every one who heard of us, wanted to join in.

So together with my son Jamie, we have created Jokers Wild so that anyone, anywhere, on this ever shrinking globe of ours, can safely share a laugh or two with us.

If you would like to be advised each time we add a joke to this site, just complete one of the SUBSCRIBE bits at the top of each page on the right and we’ll keep you up to date.

We are always on the lookout for new stuff – so if you know a good (clean) joke or anecdote and would like it posted here, you can submit it to us via the Contact Page.
(Don’t forget to tell us who you are and where you are.)

So enjoy – spread the word, tell your friends and keep watching this space.

Hey, and it’s all free!

Cheers,
